Indeed Elijah is coming to restore all things.  Mark 9:12


Recently, Fred and I were reviewing the week.  During the discussion, I clearly heard the words “I am restructuring America.”  The thought has riveted me as I look over the landscape of the “pre-dawn” election season.  Since the 2020 elections, America has been in much spiritual and moral upheaval as we contend for righteousness.  It has been a spiritual “Revolutionary War.”  In retrospect, I believe what has happened has been, and will be for our good.  Why?
  • People are working together now like they have never worked before.  
  • Much unrighteousness has been uncovered.
  • Those called to lead in this hour have been put to the test and they are coming out stronger, more resilient, and with greater clarity than before.  
  • People are searching for truth and are more open to the Gospel than ever before. 
Though crime is escalating, remember peace and prosperity right now are an enemy enticing us back to sleep.  As evil escalates and seems to prevail, God is raising new voices to fight and contend at city gates across our nation.  The “No names” we have been praying for are coming forth with a voice of clarity, wisdom, and understanding.  As pressures increase, God has not forsaken us; but rather He is calling for the Church to rise in new strength to turn this battle at the gate. 

A RESTORATION FORCE IS RISING:  
          I have been reading Eric Metaxas’ book “Letter to the American Church.”  From its report of history, it is blatantly evident that watchmen were not identified or active in the pre-WWII church culture in Germany.  This is not a criticism, but rather an important message to learn from history.  As multiple elections are hanging in the balance, throughout the scriptures “Watchmen” appear at God’s appointed times of governmental turning.  
  • At the time of the uprising when Absalom threatened the throne of David, 2 Samuel 18:24-28
  • At the time of the overthrow of Jezebel 2 Kings 9:17-20
  • The overthrow of Athaliah’s harsh rule 2 Kings 11:1-21 
For those who were with us in Herrnhut this year, you may remember Dean Briggs’ declaration, “We are entering a new church era.”  What is that era?  As I have been reading,  I have sensed the Lord say, "We are entering the era of the watchmen."  It is a vital ingredient for the restoration season upon us. In the battle before us, God is taking us back full circle to our original calling to “tend and keep” our garden (Genesis 2:15).  The word keep is “Shamar” or to “Watch.”  Jesus’ last exhortation to mankind was to “Watch and Pray” (Mt. 26:41, Mk 13:33, 14:38; Lu 21:36).   
               As nations rage, God is calling us back to His foundations.  Malachi 4:5-6 is coming into view “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.  And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and ‘strike the earth with a curse.’”  Malachi speaks of the future release of a spirit of Elijah.  Right after the transfiguration and appearance of Moses and Elijah, Jesus taught James, John and Peter who were with Him, “Indeed Elijah is coming first and restores all things” (Matthew 17:12, Mark 9:12). Though interpreted as John the Baptist, it also speaks to the future release of the spirit of Elijah.  Paul preached about this restoration era regarding Jesus' return in Acts 3:21 “until the times of restoration of all things.”  The times are pointing to the release of the spirit of Elijah that will move to "restore all things," Mark 9:12.  Watch for restoration activity in your own lives, family, church, and community and move into it.  You will see it!
            As we labor to build the walls for our nation(s) and link with Israel, do not lose sight of a larger vision unfolding of God’s restorative plan.  This will ultimately culminate in the "Day of the Lord," and Jesus' return.  Watchmen are key in the turning of governments, the restoration now happening, and preparing the way for His return.  God has been raising up seedbeds (expressions) for watchmen to emerge.  Praying you do not grow weary or buy into enemy plans to take you out.  The era of the Watchman is just beginning.  The stage is being set for Jesus' return.  This is the big picture we must not lose sight of.  Be encouraged, the “Greater works” are yet to come (John 14:12).
